Ray M September 11, 2011 for Model Number MAV4755AWW Is there a special tool used to compress the plastic tangs on the timer stem? Thanks in advance. Ray
1 Answer Ray, No there is no special tool needed, just a small flat blade screwdriver. You will need to access the backside of the timer assembly, by removing the metal control console back panel. In the larger opening on the left side of the timer back, you should notice a "D" shapeed insert, You will insert the screwdriver blade into the flat area and carefully pry out on the insert(approximately 3/8 to 1/2 inch, and pull out on the timer dial knob at the same time. Reverse the process to install the knob on the new timer. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Gary March 18, 2011 for Model Number MAV3955EWW How do you remove the selector dial from the front of the timer assembly so you can replace the timer assembly? The washer moves through the wash/rinse cycle if I move the selector by hand but not automatically. The timer assembly is bad, correct?
1 Answer Hello Gary. It sounds like a bad timer. You will need to pull the green clip (in the picture) out to remove the knob. Hope this helps. Read More...
