John March 08, 2011 Went to Sears website and it has 2 different timers listed for my dryer. I have a Maytag Atlantis, mod # MDE7400AYW serial # 19715902CR. Timer does not advance in the timed dry section or any other sections as well. Any idea what timer I need? Also, I was told by someone that I might need a new wiring harness. Is that a waste of time or do you have any suggestions. Finally, any idea why it is such a covert operation to try and figure out which timer I actually need or why there are so many different numpers on the Maytag timers? What a joke. The original timer says 3720660, I think this is the part number but I am not sure.
1 Answer Hello John, according to the model number and serial number you've provided the correct timer is WP33002803. You're unit does not require the new wiring harness. Hope this helps, Thanks! Read More...
Larry March 04, 2011 I tried time dry, the dryer heates up but continues to run. One thing I have found is the parts #'s are different. The old one is 33002803m295 8137A, and the new one is 33002855 m295 0242A.
J February 28, 2011 I have a similar problem....timer doesnt move from the posistion it started at and the dryer turns but i get no heat...in reference to the above suggestion to try "timed dry" i am gonna try that right now...if it works in that mode what does that mean and if it continues to have the same problem what does that mean? I appreciate ANY help on this..thank you much, jay.
1 Answer If the timer will turn during timed dry and shut off, but will not in automatic dry, then you have a heating problem causing the sensor in auto dry to hold the timer. You could have a bad heater, thermostat, or voltage problem. Read More...
