Demetrius July 15, 2012 for Model Number kenmore 70 series model# 110.20712.990 part # 3954030 I think the washer was overloaded, son said it was jumping all around when I got home it would not go into spin cycle. It washes and rinses but when it gets to spin cycle it just sits there, dose not even drain water . Not going to next cycle so, I am thinking it's the timer please help if possible Thank you in advance.
1 Answer Demetrius, Based on the post information, the first thing to check should be the lid switch WP3949238 and wiring. The switch has to have a "closed" circuit in order for it to drain and spin. If the switch assembly got dislodged, or a wire got disconnected, then the washer won' drain and spin. Then consider the timer WP661636. Read More...
George June 27, 2012 The pink wire that I was talking about is the feed to the temp switch. NO POWER if I put hot to the fill valve it works. Just no power out if timer to temp switch
1 Answer Hello George. Based on that information you provided, it sounds like the pressure switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
George June 19, 2012 for Model Number 110.20722990 I put in new timer and it will not fill I checked power to the water mix switch and there is no power on the pink wire it is a brand new timer. I can make the water fill if I bypass any ID
1 Answer George, What or where are you bypassing the circuit ? At the water level switch, you want to remove the air tube, turn the water faucets off, and check voltage on the purple wire(power in) check the pink wire (power out) then check the pink wire on terminal two(2) of the water temp. switch. This is a live 120 VAC test, so be careful. Thanks Read More...
Mark March 12, 2012 for Model Number kenmore 70 series washer Everything works good until the timer reaches the spin cycle. It skips the spin and leaves the clothes soaking wet. I can turn the timer dial all the way around to spin again and turn it on manually and it works just fine. Does this need a new timer?
1 Answer Hello Mark. If the timer advances the spin cycle and does not power the motor, then yes, you will need to replace the timer WP661636 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
