J9 October 11, 2011 for Model Number WTW57ESVWO My washer begins to agitate as soon as I turn it on. Then the water starts to fill & also sounds as if it is draining as it fills. It agitates briefly then drains, spins, sprays water as if in the rinse cycle but does not seem to fill for either wash or rinse. When it is done spinning it leaves a bit of water on the clothes. This washer is only 2 years old so VERY disappointed it is acting up. What part/parts do I need? Can I return any if not needed?
1 Answer Hello J9. Make sure the drain hose is not to far into the drain pipe and is siphoning the water out. If not, you will need to replace the sensor switch WPW10292584 and the timer WPW10177827. Hope this helps. Read More...
Dg October 05, 2011 for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 The washer fills with water and begins to agitate but will not move through to the rinse and spin cycle unless we manually do it. Smells hot if left to wash and will just continue to agitatate. Is this just the timer? This washer is about 2 years old.
1 Answer Hello DG. Test and see if there is power coming to the timer motor, during the operation of the wash cycle. If so, and the timer does not move, you will need to replace the timer WPW10177827. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Simplicio August 16, 2011 for Model Number wtw57esvw1 my washing machine is not working very well, at all levels Delicate clothing does not work. but it does work in the spin cycle, please help me with this problem thank you very much
1 Answer Simplicio, Are you aware that the delicate cycle has an intermittent agitate and soak process in the wash segment of the timer ? As for your level complaints, you will most likely need a new sensing switch WPW10248240, this controls the water level and the water temperature, and seems to have a pretty high failure rate. Good Luck Read More...

Scott March 16, 2011 for Model Number WTW58ESVW1 I have a 14 month old washer that I purchased new. It works fine until the last minute or so of the final spin cycle. It adds water to the load and then shuts off. I advance it to another spin cycle to spin the water out of it. Do you think it's the timer and level switch or just the level switch? I'm so surprised that I'm having this issue on a new washer. Thanks in advance for your support. BTW, do you think it's worth calling Customer Service to see if they will cover this under warranty? I've had some not so positive experiences with their Customer Service.
1 Answer Hello Scott. Usually it's the timer, but Whirlpool advises to change both the timer and the switch. WPW10248240 Hope this helps. Read More...
John A March 08, 2011 Two problems: 1. Typically washer begins to fill partially with water before agitator begins to operate. Now the agitator starts to operate right away. 2. After spin cycle, washer begins to fill again for a brief time and puts just enough water into clothes to make them very wet again. Would the above be attributed to a bad timer?
1 Answer Hello John. There are two parts that can cause the problems your having. The timer as you mentioned, and the level switch WPW10248240, can cause the problems your having. These two parts work together for the cycle and fill process. Whirlpool recommends changing both parts to ensure a proper repair. Hope this helps. Read More...
