Carrie S. December 23, 2014 for Model Number KGRK806PSS00 Gas burner seems to be building up gas in stove and getting a small explosion of gas that knocks out burner flame.
Dennis April 01, 2014 for Model Number KGRS807SSS When starting my oven to bake, sometimes the burner does not light and I smell gas. I hear a couple of clicks as if it were trying to light but then nothing and it will try a couple of times before shutting down. If I turn the oven off and restart, sometimes that will work. Could it be the gas valve? Do you have a video for replacement? Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Dennis, Based on the information you will want to access the burner tube by removing the oven bottom and check the tubing for rusting. This would be the most common reason for the unit to spark but not to light even with the gas smell. Read More...
Dmfx March 20, 2014 for Model Number KGSA906PSS Oven and top burners seem to work fine. Broiler igniter sparks and I smell gas but gas smell goes away and spark stops after maybe 3 clicks.
1 Answer Hello Dmfx, There will always be a bit of a gas smell from a gas unit during initial ignition. The unit has to open the valve then get it lit. During this time, a gas smell that dissipates is normal. Read More...
Ehsan December 24, 2013 for Model Number KGRA806PSS00 HI, Our oven stopped working and a repair man technician advised that it could possibly be the valve or the Cntrl-Elec. Before we purchase one part over the other, we want to get your professional advice. When the oven is turned on with a temperature of more than 200 degrees the electrical wand turns on but neither of the burner oven turn on. The oven never exceeds more than 200 degrees fahrenheit. Can you help please?
1 Answer Hello Ehsan. You're issue could be in either the DSI spark module W10331686 or gas valve solenoids 9763716 . Rick R. November 14, 2013 for Model Number KGSI901PBS01 So the problem that Im having is that the units broil and bake burners wont ignite. when I tested the valve I put the meter on the wrong leads. I went red to blue and got 5.9 then I went orange to blue and got 200.7. I dint know I was suppose to go 1 2 and then 3. but when I try to ignite the oven I hear two muffled cliks coming from the valve. because the surface burners are igniting and the igniters in the oven isn't clicking Im thinking it might be the spark module. any guess?
1 Answer Rick, Try this, place your meter leads across the orange and red wires of the gas valve solenoid (with the wires attached), make and start a bake selection and check for 8 to 18 volts DC. Repeat for the orange and blue wires and make a broil selection. If the DC voltage is present, then the module should be OK, and the issue should be in the gas valve solenoids. Read More...

Ken December 29, 2012 for Model Number kgsss907sss00 Oven will at times not keep temperature during cooking cycle. Oven will attempt to ignite but will not.
1 Answer Hello Ken, You would want to do an amp draw on the oven ignitor. You should be getting between 3.2 and 3.6 amps WP8054129. If you are not then you need to replace the ignitor. You can also check the resistance of the gas valve WP9763716. Should be 216 ohms between bake and common and broil and common. Read More...
