The washer drive belt transfers motor power to the washer’s drive system so the basket spins and agitates. Replacing a stretched or broken belt helps stop squealing and slipping so cycles finish at proper spin speed.
What it does
- Links the drive motor to the washer’s drive/pulley system
- Restores spin and agitation when the belt is worn, glazed, or broken
- Can reduce squeal or burning-rubber smells from belt slip
- Helps prevent intermittent or no-spin conditions
What’s included
One drive belt.
Install notes
- Unplug power; turn off water
- Tip the washer back; remove the bottom shield/cover if present
- Route the belt over the motor and drive pulleys; rotate by hand to seat fully
- Inspect pulleys/drive parts for wear; run a spin or calibration test after install
This OEM Whirlpool belt is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore washer models.
