Allen H Bellevue , NE September 08, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF263BEAESR/AA-0000 Noisy fan on ice maker Even though I ordered a new fan which came in four days, it turned out that there was an ice build up just below the box fan that the blades of the fan were hitting. I replaced the fan anyway because I was unsure the condition of the original fan. Everything is quiet again. I tested the original fan and found it was still in good condition. As my wife pointed out, I probably wouldn't have taken the ice maker apart just to check for ice. Even though I spent nearly two hours trying to figure out how everything came apart and melting the build up of ice. I put it back together in 10 minutes. Joseph M Post Falls , ID January 02, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF28HMEDBSR/AA-0001 Loud buzzing from ice maker I replaced the small dc fan in the ice maker. 1) remove the cable cover 2) unhook cables 3) remove screw at front of the part that actually makes the ice 4) drop that cover by pushing it right and down (this was the only tricky part of the fix) 5) push cooling element down slightly as you pull upper unit out 6) lift release tab on the back portion of the ice maker...the cube shaped thing in the back has a release tab in front at the bottom 7) remove 2 screws to release left panel of this cube shaped thing 8) remove fan and replace it 9) put it back together in reverse. Without a way to test it, I purchased replacement. Do not know if problem is fixed. Time will tell.
