Water leaking into fresh food compartment freezed frosted over Charles L. • Frankfort , IL • July 18, 2016
This is a 15 yr old Kenmore (GE) refrigerator with top mounted freezer...
I knew, for awhile, that I had a DEFROST problem. That was causing water to collect on the inside bottom of the fridge, under the veg./fruit bins. And then occasionally run out onto the kitchen floor if I didn't sop up the water inside. But I delayed the repair because of the hassle of emptying the food, top and bottom, and finding temporary homes for it all. Until I noticed 3 things happen in short order.
1)The water...

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR02X10668
The Temperature Sensor Seal is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This seal is designed to protect the temperature sensor from moisture and other environmental factors that could affect its accuracy and longevity. By providing a barrier against the harsh conditions within a refrigerator, such as humidity and temperature fluctuations, this seal ensures that the sensor can accurately monitor and control the refrigerator's internal temperature.
Causes of a malfunctioning Temperature Sensor Seal can include wear and tear over time, degrading the seal's effectiveness. Physical damage like tears or punctures can allow moisture to reach the sensor. Improper installation may leave gaps or loose areas around the sensor, compromising the seal.
Symptoms of a bad Temperature Sensor Seal include:
- Inaccurate temperature readings.
- Condensation or frost near the sensor location.
- Frequent cycling or unusual patterns in the refrigerator's cooling process.
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Fresh food side temp display says 37 degrees but inside ff side measures over 40 degrees. John N. • Southlake , TX • February 03, 2018
This fridge has had a problem of ice building up around evaporator coil in fresh food side. Wife (she HATES this thing) says it's done this from day one; 10 years. GE guy says all these models do this and there's no fix for it, so we have clean out the ice periodically... Like the 1940s pre auto defrost.
Now with the issue of FF side temp too highi assumed the ice had built up around FF evaporator coil preventing proper cooling, but AppliancePartsPros.com suggested the FF temp thermistor may...

Repeating freezing of defrost drain. Frank A. • Greenwood , IN • February 21, 2022
Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain.
After this, the defrost cycle is running as expected, but will not know if the issue is corrected until a year or so...

Ice maker no longer produced ice noticed a leak coming from icemaker a couple of weeks earlier Barbara E. • Chandler , AZ • January 08, 2017
Replaced entire ice maker. A couple of important points. (1) The ice maker module does not include all parts. The door flap for example is not included. So save all plastic parts from the old unit including screws.
The biggest installation problem was the power cable. There was little room on the side of the ice maker for the cable and connectors to fit. Make sure the connector that mates with the refrigerator cable is seated onto the plastic housing and does not stick out or dangle out....

Ice dispenser did not work Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015
I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise...
