Refrigerator Icemaker Sensor Parts
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10300022
The Ice Maker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. Designed to efficiently produce ice, this ice maker ensures your refrigerator dispenses fresh and clear ice cubes whenever you need them. It integrates seamlessly into compatible models, maintaining the integrity and performance of your appliance. Note: The original bracket that covered bottom of the icemaker is NLA. The new bracket is part number W11500948.
Signs that it's time to replace your ice maker include a noticeable decrease in ice production, ice cubes that are smaller or misshaped, and unusual noises during the ice-making process. These issues can arise from a variety of causes such as a malfunctioning water inlet valve, a clogged filter, or even temperature inconsistencies within the freezer compartment.
Symptoms of a bad Ice Maker include:
- Inability to produce ice
- Producing ice at a slower rate than usual
- Ice cubes are not ejected from the mold
- Water leaks in the freezer compartment
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Upright frost free freezer would not keep food frozen (Frigidaire name plate but made by (Electrolux) testing determined the refrigeration system worked but it would not defrost. Kenton K. • Chanhassen , MN • May 31, 2020
Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. The only way to remove the control panel is to pry the panel out of the door using a thin-bladed putty knife. The instructions provided were very good in explaining the process;...

I noticed that the bottom of the plastic bucket was cracked even though it was less than two years old. I called Samsung and they wanted to charge me almost $200. Instead, I found the part at appliance parts pros for half that cost. Since I replaced the ice tray bucket assembly, my ice maker is working perfectly!

Ice bucket auger broke up front where the ice is pushed out of the freezer Mark D. • Columbia , MO • March 25, 2017
This was a little more involved than I originally thought, but after watching the video on the site it wasn't so bad. They walk you through each step verbally and visibly so you can see exactly what to do. Replacing the auger took around 20 minutes, and only that long because the screw holding the ice shield was a bit tough to turn. I just applied gentle pressure and turned slowly until it became loose. The rest was fairly easy, but I did get a small cut from the ice crusher blades. Nothing...

Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. Displayed e1 error code the root cause was the sensor (thermistor) that got ripped off of the roof of the freezer Jon S. • Tuscarora , MD • February 21, 2015
Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Ice maker quit working. Lee H. • Cleveland , MN • June 04, 2020
This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Need a phillips and a flat screwdriver, I also found a needle nose...

This was for a friend of mine his refrigerator stopped cooling Gary G. • Ofallon , MO • July 12, 2015
This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart.

Lg french door in door ice maker stopped working Erich Y. • Jensen Beach , FL • December 19, 2015
Replaced ice maker. Some confusion as to which part # it was as the model number cross reference shows the one I purchased was not for my model refrigerator when it actually was. Secondly, a few comments from others said the switch out was simple. Only 3 screws holding in the ice maker although one of the three was in a tight spot . That is technically true. Three screws do hold the ice maker on the door , however, you must also remove the door panel behind the ice maker to get to the wiring...

Samsung fridge wasn't making ice in upper icemaker Stephen H. • Columbia , SC • January 22, 2017
This appears to be a weak spot on these refrigerators; the left-door ice maker will stop making (or at least consistently making) ice. Instead, an ice dam is created, which builds up in the ice maker corridor, making even getting the slide-in bucket nearly impossible to remove. The ice also freezes up the ice making tray, which therefore cannot drop the ice cubes. Generally, two things may go wrong which lead to this issue.
The first is the ice-making assembly; its electrical components...

And they added that the typical repair for the ice maker was between $200 and $500.

Ice maker was not discharging ice at 0 degrees f; raised to 2f which worked but ice production did not keep up with our daily use for 2 people. Roy W. • Fernandina Beach , FL • January 14, 2023
When I first searched the AppliancePartsPros.com site for my specific model, the ice maker that appeared in the parts list was not for my refrigerator. So, I bought one from one of your competitors. It arrived and worked but produced ice even more slowly than my original unit, albeit at 0F. So, I went back to AppliancePartsPros.com parts list and browsed completely through it only to find another ice maker that did match mine. It was almost twice the cost, but after installing it, worked...
