This bale strap is the replacement strap used to secure and support the appliance's bale or handle assembly, restoring proper hold and alignment for normal operation. It replaces a worn or broken strap to help the door/handle stay connected and function reliably. What it does:

I unplugged the unit, removed the back cardboard panel and replaced the compressor starting device, and also the capacitor. Plugged the unit back in and the compressor came on and immediately began cooling. I was so happy (proud of myself) for diagnosing the problem and fixing the unit.
