Watched videos available on APP's website, then ordered all necessary parts. Once parts arrived, just followed the videos again, step-by-step, to repair the mixer. I am NOT a "handyman", but with APP as my resource, I did it. Mixer running great now. Read more

I ordered the worm gear online with replacement Food Grade Grease and the mixer bowl, cap-hub, paddle, and dough hook. It took longer to disassemble the mixer than replacing the gear. Fixes intermittent or erratic speed control on stand mixers. This electronic board regulates motor power for accurate, steady speeds across all settings.
Unplug the unit from power. Remove decorative aluminum band from motor enclosure by removing single screw at rear of mixer. Remove screws (now exposed) which secure the top half of the motor enclosure. Using a 1/8" punch, tap-out the pin that penetrates the planetary gear cover and the motor shaft (takes some finesse to avoid damage to the painted/coated planetary. It is a tight fit!) This will allow the planetary gear and cover to drop. Now the motor and gear unit can be removed. Do so... Read more

I followed the online tutorials, there are many....replaced the PLASTIC part that had worn out Part #: AP4325266 (241764), and also the roll pin, Part #: AP3038054 (9703442) that held it in place with the handle. THIS IS THE HARDEST part of the entire repair, pounding out the roll pin and pounding it back in. A special tool should probably be used for this. I had a small specialized driver bit that "fit" for the job, so I abused it. Probably didn't need to BUY a NEW roll pin, ( it HAS be... Read more

Hardware washer/spacer used in KitchenAid stand mixer assembly. Provides proper component spacing and secure mounting.
For most 20-year-old KitchenAid Blenders the grease packed inside begins to break down into UCK and oil which will drip through the old gaskets. After breaking down the case and removing all of the old grease and oil I cleaned all the gearing and shafts. I replaced the case gasket, the 2 shaft gaskets that the lower orbital gear slides up, and then the o-ring on the main shaft after everything was installed. I did a break-in run on med speed for one hour and then tapped the chrome ring off... Read more

I replaced the Board-Phas and speed control plate since power was not making it to the motor. When I received the speed control plate it had nuts on the upper screws with springs, since my old one didn't have nuts I assumed that the nuts were to keep the springs on until installed. After putting it back together, I noticed that though it worked, the first two settings did nothing. Now, guys, I was desperate, OK. I downloaded the service manual and read it from front to back, and when I got to... Read more
