Burner not heating or intermittent power? Failed terminal block causes poor electrical connections. Direct plug-in replacement, basic tools needed.
Full disassembly of removable tray into top plate (stainless) and lower pan taking care not to loose fasteners. Removal of terminal blocks using lubrication on rusted screws and, if necessary, drill out technique. Unclip wires from edges of the tray on both sides without losing the clips for future re-use. Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order). Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. Replace a broken or fatigued oven door spring to restore proper counterbalance. Installs behind side panel. Ensures door closes firmly and seals correctly.
It was a simple fix. I removed the six screws holding the side panel on the range. Removed the broken parks of the spring. I use a screwdriver to help stretch the new spring into place. I then replaced the side panel and screwed it on. About ten minutes work. Read more
