Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser would not run.   Danny D. • Bellevue , NE • November 05, 2022

I ordered a new motor. The new motor's electrical harness was not long enough, so I had to use some wire from the old motor, splicing it to make it reach. Problem solved. Also, the in-the-door ice maker was leaking water and the old motor was covered with ice. Cleaned calcium buildup around the water inlet. Problem solved. Read more

Thermistor Assembly
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: EBG60663230

The Thermistor Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It serves a crucial function in monitoring and regulating the temperature within the appliance. By sensing temperature changes, the thermistor sends information to the refrigerator’s control board, ensuring the system adjusts cooling to maintain the desired temperature settings.

Symptoms of a failing thermistor assembly include:

  • Inconsistent temperatures in the refrigerator or freezer
  • Refrigerator running longer than usual or not cooling efficiently
  • Frequent fluctuations in temperature readings

Causes of thermistor assembly failure typically involve electrical faults, damage from moisture or frost, or simple wear over time, which can impact its ability to accurately measure and report temperatures.

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You 22 error code   Joseph L. • Martinsburg , WV • July 12, 2020

Replace your broken or cracked refrigerator glass shelf. This tempered glass shelf installs in the fresh food compartment to organize food items.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken shelf glasd   Elizabeth E. • Laurel , MD • March 24, 2016

Appliance Parts was the only one of three companies that did it right. When the glass in our rather new LG fridge broke, I called the number listed in the manual for replacement parts and was put through to their "authorized distributor" for our area. The authorized distributor sent us the wrong part (entirely different dimensions) with a packing slip identifying the right part number. Because this is not a review of that company (which would be horrible, I won't share the gruesome details of... Read more

This run capacitor provides the continuous electrical boost needed to keep the refrigerator's compressor motor running efficiently. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg refrigerator compressor would intermittantly hum and shut down but then start normally minutes later   Don C. • Pearland , TX • July 23, 2016

After watching repair videos, I decided I could order the parts needed and do it myself for less than a service call, not to mention the additional cost for parts markup and installation that a service technician would charge. I am very pleased that I did. I ordered the start relay, overload and capacitor with some help from Ilya at customer service to make sure I was getting the correct replacements. Installation was easy. The hardest thing was contorting my body into a position where I could... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Handle broken off ice maker door handle cover screws and rollers lost.   Lee H. • Appling , GA • November 07, 2022

Threaded bases for two roller screws were ~ 80% broken off. Used a short (just barely extends past the end of the roller) sheet metal screw to secure the roller in the upper sliding section of the handle (handle in place first). The head was thick enough to fill the gap between the roller and the cover. Filling that gap accurately is important. Need to keep the roller pushed into the recessed area in the door. (Do a test fit with the parts before trying to install them on the door). Turn the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You ER CO was displayed refrigerator stopped working   Christopher B. • Colorado Springs , CO • January 16, 2019

Unplugged frig to check connections, everything was ok. When I plugged it back in, nothing worked and the display and ice maker were flickering and clicking. Unplugged the display connector on the main board and could hear clicking from the main board itself. Replacing the main board and capacitor fixed it. I only replaced the capacitor as a precaution. it may not have been bad, but I did it for good measure. Everything is working great now and I don't have to buy a new refrigerator. Read more
