Top mounted freezer with bottom refrigerator. Kenmore Elite Shut off the power Remove all food stuff from freezer (placed in ice chest) then shelves. Removed the ice maker, (easy!) 3 screws and unplugged wires. 2 screws in the back panel. Pulled top forward - downward Unplugged wiring harness from back wall of freezer, removed ground wire from panel Pulled fan blade off. I did not notice them at first, but then heard them and was confident that one of these parts (or both) had a problem. In my case, I have custom cabinets around the sides of the refrigerator and hardwood floors in the kitchen so I put down some cardboard when the rollers would need to go at an angle due to a center island in the way.
