Thrust Bearing Kit
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 12002213

The Thrust Bearing Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This kit is essential for the proper operation of the washer's transmission system, allowing the drive system to engage smoothly and efficiently.

Over time, components within the thrust bearing kit can wear down or become damaged due to the constant stress and movement they endure during the wash cycle. This wear can lead to issues with the washing machine's ability to agitate or spin correctly.

Symptoms of a bad Thrust Bearing Kit include:

  • The washing machine is noisy during operation
  • The washer struggles to agitate or spin
  • The washing machine may fail to spin at all, leaving clothes wet at the end of the cycle
  • Excessive vibration during use

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms

My Maytag washer make a loud screech when the washer tub needed to be stopped by the brake. Last year, I had replaced the suspension springs, the snubber ring, the drive belt and the drain pump. I thought it would be better to replace the brake rotor and stator together as a set since I was going to disassemble both and they were 18 years old anyway. I decided to replace the... Read more

Disconnected the two hoses to the pump, catching some water with towels. Removed three retaining screws, then realized I had not disconnected the belt from under the unit. Easy fix, tilted the unit and disconnected the belt. Put in the new pump , connected the hoses, then reconnected the belts. Works like new! Read more
