This defrost heater is mounted near the evaporator coils and generates heat to melt frost buildup during the automatic defrost cycle. It helps maintain proper airflow and cooling efficiency inside the refrigerator. Replace this heater if you notice excessive frost on the evaporator coils, the refrigerator is not cooling properly, or the freezer section is warm.
Total repair took slightly over 1 hour. Would have taken longer had I not already have taken the freezer apart on a previous occasion. Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems. Read more

Replace your refrigerator's door hinge bushing if the door rattles, won't close properly, or requires lifting to shut. Fits top hinge assembly. Confirm fit.
