Fixes loose panels, rattling doors, or wobbly components caused by stripped or missing screws. Secures brackets, covers, and mounting hardware. Easy DIY.
Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find... Ice maker not making ice or water leaking? A faulty water inlet valve often causes these issues. This DIY fix takes 5-15 minutes with basic tools.
After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the part, at a reasonable price, that I needed on this website with a helpful how-to video to boot. The part I needed wasn't in stock. I was followed up with an e-mail stating an estimated time when the part would be released. A week or so later I received the... Read more

Tested start relay and fan with multimeter both passed. The condenser would start only if the thermostat was on the highest setting and the refrigerator would cool for a while, stop and not restart unless I adjusted the defrost timer. Decided to replace the thermostat, defrost timer and defrost thermostat. The refrigerator is working as expected. A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off.
