The plastic cam the bottom hinge had ground down over time and the door would have to be pushed shut. The cam was not automatically closing the door when the door was swung closed. I bought the new hinge pieces from AppliancePartsPros.com by using the model number found on the refrigerator tag. The schematic diagram helped me identify what to order. The parts arrived in 2 days. Checked the defrost heater and it was burnt, ordered a new one and just to be safe also ordered a new defrost timer and thermostat. The refrigerator is now running perfectly. Read more

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied.
