The Temperature Sensor Seal is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This seal is designed to protect the temperature sensor from moisture and other environmental factors that could affect its accuracy and longevity. By providing a barrier against the harsh conditions within a refrigerator, such as humidity and temperature fluctuations, this seal ensures that the sensor can accurately monitor and control the refrigerator's internal temperature.
Causes of a malfunctioning Temperature Sensor Seal can include wear and tear over time, degrading the seal's effectiveness. Physical damage like tears or punctures can allow moisture to reach the sensor. Improper installation may leave gaps or loose areas around the sensor, compromising the seal.
Symptoms of a bad Temperature Sensor Seal include:

This fridge has had a problem of ice building up around evaporator coil in fresh food side. Wife (she HATES this thing) says it's done this from day one; 10 years. Used the schematic provided to select the parts needing replacement and placed the order. Parts arrived and swapping new for old was simple. For the most part it was a matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. There were a few screws with wheels to replace but that was easy as well. Before purchase I searched several different sites and found all the parts needed. I compared prices of each item as well as shipping cost. Prices for each item were nearly identical between sites... The Ice Deflector Spring is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. This spring is a crucial component of the ice dispensing system, specifically in selecting between crushed and whole ice cubes. It is designed to always force the diverter back in a way that the cubes get crushed. When whole cubes are selected, the solenoid pulls the lever against the spring’s tension to shift the configuration, allowing cubes to bypass the crusher blades.
Causes for a malfunctioning Ice Deflector Spring can include wear and tear from regular use, corrosion due to constant exposure to moisture, or mechanical failure that prevents it from effectively reverting the diverter to the crushed ice configuration.
Symptoms of a bad Ice Deflector Spring include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair. Read more

This helix is the plastic spiral inside the refrigerator's ice bucket that works with the auger to move ice toward the crusher and dispenser. Replacing a worn or broken helix restores smooth ice dispensing and reduces jams.
Ice was not being dispensed when lever was pushed in either crushed or cubed mode I removed the ice bin. After searching the web for reasons for this I pulled the bin out and started looking at auger assembly. I noticed that the sections of the Helix blades were missing. Ordered the Helix here at AAP and received the part the next day. The whole process took about an hour and as others have noted, you have to disassemble the bin assembly to get the auger assembly out. I watched the video... Read more

This evaporator fan motor dust cap is an authentic OEM replacement part found on refrigerator and freezer fan motors. This dust cap prevents the fan motor bearing and housing from being damaged by dirt and debris. If the dust cap is cracked or broken, the fan may make loud squealing noises. If the dust cap is not removed and replaced, the fan could stop working and ultimately cause the refrigerator's temperature to be affected. To start, disconnect the power and water to the refrigerator. Remove food from the freezer so that the back panel of the freezer can be accessed to reach the fan. Remove the ice maker and set it outside the freezer. Disconnect the fan and take it out of the freezer to expose the fan's shaft and the dust cover. Pry the dust cover off and install the new one. Replace the fan and cover. Reconnect the wires and reinstall the icemaker. Put the food back in the freezer. Reconnect the power and water. The evaporator fan motor dust cap is a white plastic part that is sold individually. This dust cover is made for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric, Hotpoint, and Kenmore.

Ice cubes stuck together or ice maker not ejecting? The ice stripper removes ice from the mold during ejection. Easy snap-in repair with video guide.
Replaced the parts. Initially, in order to ensure the ice maker itself was still working, I did some repairs to test it. I repaired the cracked crusher cover with a plastic welder, I also repaired the glide bucket Lh with the plastic welder & some epoxy. I attached the broken ice stripper pieces with the plastic welder. If the ice maker made ice I knew it was safe to buy new parts.
