Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). While taking off the control panel to look at the problem, I found out that a couple of the post holes in the control panel were broken.
