This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? Well I went after the other problem thinking if it does not get cold enough maybe ice maker won’t work. I ordered Defrost Switch, Heater and Evaporator Fan just to be safe. I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Replaced water reservoir that had become contaminated with ??? Also had to replace the water filter, because the water contaminated it also. Cost was about $150, for two filters and the reservoir. The first filter was replaced because I did not know the reservoir was contaminated, and no water was coming out of the dispenser. • Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. Well, I took it out (it slides out) to get a good look at it,so i could ref pictures on your site..naturally I had serial/model of refrig,and thats mandatory to get the right part. It came in 2 days,,and being just the bucket, it took only a few minutes to transfer the auger assembly/cube/crusher.... into the new one, 6 screws total..Your site has excellent vids on DIY.......I HIGHLY reccomend.
