I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros; it arrived in three working days. I turned off the power and shut off the water to the dish washer, took off the toe guard and unscrewed the appliance from the countertop. I hoped that I could pull the dish washer out from under the counter without disconnecting the water and wiring as I had seen done in the video. Luckily, I didn't have to disconnect them and with a little effort I was able to pull the dish washer out so I could work on it. ... Read more

This was not an obvious source of a leak. The Tower Heater Assembly Nut developed a crack over time due to heat exposure. So the leak was gradual slowly getting worse over time. It was a hairline crack that ran down one of the edges of the nut making it hard to see. In talking to a pro he said it isn't a common problem. It is all the way in the back of the bottom of the dishwasher so it is not something you can see without pulling the dishwasher out and running it. The repair itself is easy. I... Read more
Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. This is a genuine OEM replacement dishwasher and washing machine drain hose assembly. It is used to flush water from the machine to the drainage system. The drain hose assembly is approximately six feet. If the machine is not flushing the water, then the drain hose assembly may be clogged. Most clogs can be cleaned out with an auger. Ensure the system is unplugged and not running before attempting to disassemble the drain hose. Through everyday wear and tear, drain hose assemblies may begin to leak. Leaking is a common occurrence that may allow water to flow out near loose joints or by holes in the hose itself. When this occurs, it is time to replace the drain hose assembly. Replacing the drain hose assembly is simple. Most systems require a few twists of the connector piece to the dishwasher and/or washing machine connecting point. This OEM part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and it is sold individually. It is designed to work across multiple Kenmore and Dacor dishwasher and washing machine products.
