Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. The recess door retainer secures the dispenser's ice chute flapper in the refrigerator door. Replacing a cracked or missing retainer restores proper flapper pivot and sealing to help reduce frost buildup and air leaks around the dispenser.
I replaced the solenoid, door, spring and bucket. The bucket cracked from ice freezing inside it. Ice froze inside the bucket because the solenoid stopped pulling the door closed which allowed hot humid air into the freezer. While I was in there I replaced the dispenser door, spring and crank because they are cheap and the old ones were moldy.
