I has some trouble getting the auger fork off the drive motor. I eventually got the fork off using penetrating oil and using locking pliers on the shaft while unscrewing the fork (which has reverse threads). Unfortunately, the old icemaker was calling for continuous water flow, which made a bit of a water mess. so I had to order the icemaker unit as well. It was an easy swapout, and now the water valve was staying closed, but I was concerned when there was no ice after several hours. I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged in after a minute or so, theorizing that the refrigerator brain may have to be reset, and that did the trick. Ice now being made! Read More...
