Ice won't dispense or auger spins freely? The drive coupler connects the motor to the auger. Moderately easy DIY repair with pliers and patience.
This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. The directions on the box it is shipped in said to heat the seal up in hot water then cool it down with tap water. I didn't need to do that. It took a lot of massaging of the seal, but... Read more
Replacement rear wheel for refrigerators. Mounts to the bottom rear frame to enable smooth rolling for cleaning and repositioning. Order if cracked or missing.
The front wheel assembly replacement (WRXO2X12454) was straightforward and easy to do. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish. The rear wheel assembly (wheel WRO2X10695 and axle WRO1X10604) that was more involved as the original wheel axle is actually a rivet that you have to cut out. 1. I used a vibrating multitool with a carbide blade to cut the axle out. Had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rivet to keep it from spinning while cutting it. 2. The new axle I drilled a 2mm hole thru the... Read more
Refrigerator won't cool or compressor won't start? This compressor start relay and overload powers the compressor during cooling cycles. DIY repair.
We isolated a burning smell in our kitchen to our refrigerator, GE Profile PSS23MGTCCC which we purchased in November of 2006. This occurred at 3AM on 29 January 2015 and I am thankful that my wife got me up to investigate this odor. I unplugged the refrigerator. I plugged the refrigerator back in at 6AM thinking it had time to cool. The burning smell happened immediately and I unplugged the refrigerator again right away. My son in-law looked up some possible issues that could have... Read more
Replacement cold water reservoir tank for refrigerators. Installs behind the crisper drawer. Replace if cracked, leaking, or causing contamination issues.
I replaced the supply line to the fridge - no change in taste. I replaced the MWF manifold and tubes, the water inlet valve and the water storage line. That did it, good tasting water again! The ice still has a bad taste, so I'll replace the supply tube from the valve to the ice maker. Overall, replacing these parts was easy and the videos from Appliance Parts Pros helped. Read more
Small funnel-shaped component in the ice maker that directs water into ice molds during the filling process. Replace if the ice maker produces hollow, small, or irregularly shaped ice cubes.
Replaced the stripper and fill cup - turns out that the fill cup came with the locking tab broken off. The stripper had a missing paddle, and ice cubes would jam and shut down the ice maker periodically. Let the ice maker warm up after you remove it so the plastic is not so brittle. You have to pry the old stripper out. Make sure the new one locks all across the front. My refrigerator has the ice maker mount toe the side instead of from the hangers in back. I wasn't sure how to remove it,... Read more

Refrigerator won't cool and compressor won't run? A faulty start relay prevents the compressor from starting. Moderate DIY repair, 30-45 minutes.
Check compressor with my Hotwire kit I made when I worked for GE. When removing the compressor relay it broke in pieces. Ordered and replaced new relay, overload & run capacitor. Still did not work. Check if there’s power to compressor and found no voltage. Took control board out and found a component burnt. Ordered and replaced control board. Everything is back to normal. Love your service. Parts was supposed to come in 3-5 days but came next day instead. I am very very impressed and grateful.... Read more
This cam mechanism helps the refrigerator door close properly by providing the correct closing force and alignment for the lower hinge. It ensures the door seals tightly and maintains proper spacing from the cabinet. Replace this part if your refrigerator door doesn't close completely, hangs crooked, or requires excessive force to shut.
We bought a used fridge and forgot to get the hardware to mount the doors. Looked up the model on your website. Using the pictures I was able to order just the parts I needed and not to duplicate anything (or leave anything out!). The parts arrived and because I watched the "how to" video I knew to use the "trick" to hold the doors up while attaching the hardware. Had the doors mounted in less than 15 minutes!.. This is a grommet and gasket assembly that seals the ice maker water fill tube where it passes through the freezer wall. It prevents warm air from entering the freezer compartment and stops moisture from building up around the fill tube opening. Replace this assembly if you notice frost or ice buildup around the fill tube entry point, water leaking near the ice maker, or if the existing grommet is cracked or deteriorated.
Read the troubleshooting guide in the owner's manual. Tried its suggestions. Find a few more ideas with a web search. Noticed evidence of water leaking at the part we ordered and the video on how to install by Appliance Parts Pros. Ordered the part. The day before it's arrival, the ice maker suddenly began dropping ice again, and the water leak no longer occurred. Read more
This cam mechanism helps your refrigerator door close automatically and stay properly sealed. It provides the mechanical action that pulls the door firmly shut when you push it nearly closed. Replace it if your refrigerator door won't stay closed, doesn't seal properly, or requires excessive force to close completely.

My refrigerator is 13 years old and has always been a pain. The shelf above the ice maker broke last year which caused the ice maker to keep making ice even when the bin was full (the shelf keeps the ice contained which causes the ice buildup to shut off the ice maker). My water dispenser would occasionally refuse to dispense water. It appeared to me that the issue was caused by the nozzle freezing. The trap door for the ice was not closing properly so freezing air was always blowing out. ... Read more

The hinge broke on the ice dispenser funnel and housing. I took them off and replace them, putting the old switches and bulb in the new housing. It took some time to put the return spring back because it does not appear in the assembly diagram. Once working, it secures to the door with 4 screws, and worked as it should. The support slide inside the freezer is held with two 1/4 in screws that were taken off with a nut driver. the rear screw is hard to get at. The new bracket just screws on, and... Read more
Refrigerator light not working? This light bulb socket holds the bulb securely and provides electrical connection. Easy DIY repair with video guide.
Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor... Read more
