Microwave won't turn on or is completely dead? A blown fuse is often the cause. This safety fuse protects against power surges. Easy 5-minute DIY fix.
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more

Microwave not heating? A failed diode prevents the magnetron from generating heat. This high-voltage component converts AC to DC power. DIY repair.
14 year old GE Profile microwave wouldn't heat, but had power. Read reviews here. Ordered triumvirate of magnetron, capacitor, & diode. Was hoping not to need the capacitor as this was an expensive part; and if not needed to return to AppliancePartsPros, which has been SOP. After watching a couple YouTube videos of microwave capacitors being shorted, I made a capacitor discharge tool ordering 24W 100K Ohm resistor and high voltage test wires w/ alligator clips from amazon. At the same time,... Read more
Microwave not heating? The magnetron generates the radiation that cooks food. Moderate DIY repair—discharge capacitor first, then swap 3 screws.
Microwave not heating? High voltage capacitor stores energy to power the magnetron. DIY repair typically takes 30-60 minutes with proper safety care.
I took the advice of another buyer and replaced the magnetron, capacitor, and diode from my microwave (make sure you discharge the capacitor). It was not a problem at all to do, I did find an excellent video on YouTube on how to test all of these components and almost anything else in a microwave. It’s called Microwave Oven Troubleshooting in Minutes- Step by Step by electronicsNmore. It was the best thing I watched. Turns out my magnetron was the only thing that was bad and it’s the most... Turntable stopped rotating or making grinding noise? This motor powers the carousel rotation for even heating. DIY repair in under 15 minutes.
When our turntable stopped rotating, I would hear a clicking sound each time I used our microwave, like something was not properly engaging in order to turn the glass tray. Even though our microwave was 10 years old, everything else worked fine. I did a little research on the internet and found a couple YouTube videos that showed replacing the small motor in the bottom of GE microwaves. I am not a mechanical person, but it looked fairly easy, so I decided to try it. The... Read more

Protective resin shield that covers internal microwave components and ducting. Replace when original is cracked, broken, or missing to restore clean finish.
After researching on the internet, I decided replacing the wave guide cover would be much cheaper than replacing the microwave. Plus I couldn't even find one that worked with the existing trim kit. Had a bit of difficulty removing the old cover, but the folks at Appliance Parts Pro answered my email question within 24 hours. I received the replacement part a day or so later. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thanks! Read more

Fix uneven heating in your microwave with a new stirrer motor. This synchronous motor rotates the stirrer fan to distribute microwaves evenly for cooking.
Plastic rivet fastener that secures the waveguide cover or internal panels in your microwave. Replace if broken, missing, or damaged during repairs.
I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK. However, I was unable to rotate the cover into the locked position so I could not insert... Read more
