Range Screw
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP8273062

This range screw is an OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for gas stove burners. These screws attach the ignitor to the burner. Screws may corrode and rust during everyday use. Spills and accidents on the range top may leak down to the screws and cause them to become worn. Screws are not considered part of the ignitor kit or burner kit and will need to be purchased separately. If the screws appear rusty or corroded while replacing the ignitor, it is beneficial to replace them. It is a good idea to purchase the screws at the same time as the parts are purchased so that they are available when needed. A Phillips head screwdriver is necessary to remove and replace the old screws. Make sure the power and gas are disconnected before installing the new screws. This screw is made of silver metal and is a Phillips head screw that is sold individually. Verify the number of screws needed before ordering. This screw is designed for use in gas ranges manufactured by Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, Inglis, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, and Crosley.

Replaced old igniter. also purchased new screws for burner and igniter assembly since old screws were corroded from spilled food/fluids etc over the years. made the installation much easier. If you need to replace a worn igniter, do yourself a favor and go to hardware store and get matching replacement screws or buy new with igniter. Now my front right burner lights every time with just a click or two. Very pleased. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Spark but no fire   David N. • San Jose , CA • September 20, 2014

You will need a special "star" socket driver for this process. You can find it at any auto parts retailer, I got mine at the AutoZone. First unscrew the 2 "star" screws and unplug the igniter lead from the old burner then plug the igniter lead into the new burner igniter and re-screw the new burner back on the range. It was a very easy swap out process. In the process, I broke one of the screw... this is the hard part of all trying to remove the broken screw. Remember to soak the screws... Read more

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP74007753

This burner switch controls the power and heat settings for a surface cooking element, restoring reliable on/off operation, accurate temperature selection, and consistent element cycling on compatible electric ranges. What it does

  • Replaces a worn or failed switch that causes a burner to not heat, not respond to knob changes, or only work on certain settings.
  • Stops intermittent operation or arcing at the switch caused by worn contacts.
  • Helps resolve a burner that stays on or will not turn on when the switch is faulty.
What's included One burner switch. Install notes
  • Always disconnect power at the breaker before starting any repair to avoid shock.
  • Photograph and/or label wires before removal so you can reconnect terminals correctly.
  • Handle terminals gently and ensure secure, tight connections; replace any damaged wiring or connectors.
  • Test the range on all heat settings after installation; if you see arcing, burning smell, or continued malfunction, cut power.
