Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Kitchenaid superba oven display blank   Frederick S. • Whittier , CA • August 31, 2015

Oven display began flickering, then fading to completely black, but still functioned for some time. When oven was on broil or high heat for too long the display would flicker back on, and enter commands on its own. Even went into Self Clean mode while something was baking, and locked the oven door (very dangerous). New control board took about 10 minutes to replace. Just a few screws beneath it, and a few wire-harness plugs to unplug and plug back in on the new unit. The plugs each only... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burned out your broiling element in oven   Steven W. • Tallahassee , FL • August 25, 2016

When I ordered the correct part from Appliance Parts Pro and, here's the big takeaway, I watched the accompanying video. With this repair there were 4 connectors coming thru 2 openings of the rear oven wall. In the video it advised to tie a twist tie around each so they couldn't slip back into the rear panel. If they did it would have required pulling the oven out, removing the back and guiding the connectors back thru the rear wall openings. TWIST TIES...Wise words!!!! Did as instructed and... Read more

Door Glass Seal (Oven Door Inner Gasket)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP9755177

This door glass seal replaces the soft gasket that fits around the inner oven door glass to help keep heat and smoke inside the oven cavity for safer, more efficient cooking. It restores a better seal and reduces heat loss around the door. What it does:

  • Seals the gap between the inner oven door glass and door frame to limit heat and smoke escape
  • Helps maintain oven temperature stability for consistent cooking results
  • Reduces heat transfer to the surrounding cabinetry and control area
  • Can improve oven efficiency if the old seal is cracked, compressed, or missing

What's included:

  • One door glass seal

Install notes:

  • For safest results, replace with the oven powered off and fully cooled; disconnect power at the breaker when required
  • Inspect surrounding door glass and clips before reassembly; replace any damaged parts to ensure a proper seal
  • Work carefully to avoid scratching the glass or bending metal door components

Nut, Mounting
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP422617

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken fan switch part # no longer available.   Joseph H. • Argyle , TX • May 31, 2020

Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bake element wouldn't heat   Benjamin A. • Crofton , MD • December 27, 2015

The hidden bake element accessed from the side of the oven was clearly done...not only did it not test for continuity, but when I removed it, there was a clean break where it had failed. Of course I replaced that first. Though my thermal cutoff tested fine for continuity, the element still wouldn't heat when I initiated bake. I could hear a click when the relay was triggered by the control board up top. Thanks to the 365 day return policy, I decided it was worth my while to try the $170... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My electric oven would not fully heat up   Richard Z. • Avon , MN • December 20, 2014

The first thing I did was call appliance pros. The tec told me it was a good chance it was the thermostat. He told how to test it with my ohm meter and what range it should be in. I pulled it out and tested it, which was out of the limits he told me it should be in. So I ordered the part. When it arrived in two days, I installed it. The oven now works perfect. Thank you so much. I was just about to go spend $800 on a new oven, and instead fixed it for $75. Awesome website. It was... Read more
