Oven won't heat but burners work? Clicking ignitor with no flame? This gas valve controls gas flow to bake and broil burners. Typical DIY install: 15-30 min.
I replaced both igniters (WP part #s 8191123 and WP8054129) but no luck. I should've tested mine first for continuity b/c I learned it's a pretty easy test with a multi-meter. Next, I tested the high-limit thermostat fuse (WP part # 8300802) b/c this often blows, especially after using the self-cleaning function. This part also tested fine so APP suggested the gas valve (part # WP9763716). This is the part that fixed my oven. I'm not technical so I didn't understand how the burners could... Read more
If your oven door won't lock, stays locked after self-clean, or shows door lock errors, this door lock motor and switch assembly often solves the issue.
My appliance is a Whirlpool Accubake Wall Oven, single door. After using the tech sheet and measuring the ohms of the two micro switches that sends signals when the door is shut and locked, determined the lock was faulty. Pretty simple to change, the most difficult part was taking the digital face off of the oven without damaging the control board. TIP: take a picture of the latch switches to ensure you put the correct wires on the correct switch. Read more

After being told by a service repairman that it would cost me close to $200 to repair, I resolved to just not use the dispenser. After about a year, I had decided that I wanted to repair it and would look at the options myself. At the least, I could figure out which parts were needed to repair it and have them on hand for a service guy if I determined I could not do the job myself. The more I studied it, the more I felt confident that I could do it, and sure enough, when the part arrived - a... Read more
Fix burners that won't light or spark intermittently with a new surface burner igniter. Most DIYers complete this repair in 20 minutes with basic tools.
I disassembled the top of the range and looked at the problem burner. It looked like there was a spark at all three other burners but not the problem burner. There was a visible spark at the connector between the wiring harness and the ceramic igniter but that spark wasn't making it up to the top of the igniter where it can light the burner. I ordered a new igniter for $19 and it was on my doorstep the next day. I replaced the part and now my wife thinks I am a genius. Don't tell her that... Read more

Easy fix, this was an identical match to the fan that was in the oven. The only thing missing was the foam strip, that easily came off the old fan assembly and stuck to the new one. The hardest thing was finding the part, and with a picture to verify. I have found appliancepros.com has a large list of available parts, easy to find in their inventory of available items, and some of the best prices as well. This is a Whirlpool convection slide in oven, and the Whirlpool site was worthless, did... Read more
Left side hinge receiver for door hinge. For right side hinge receiver use WP4455606.
I was able to order new hinge receiver brackets for the door. The repair was not that bad. I just had to take off the lower door, take the two trim pieces off the sides and unscrew the screws holding the oven into the face of the cabinet. Then slide it out about halfway and put a step stool under the front to keep it from tipping over. Then it was just a matter of taking off everything around the sides until I could take the brackets off, put the new brackets on, and put everything back... Read more

The plastic piece on the handle where the screw goes in to hold glass door up had broke. I ordered new handle, the retainer pieces that go over the plastic pieces to lock it all in and screws that were suggested. The screws were the wrong ones. They were way too small. I already had one screw and thankfully only had to buy 1 new one because the screw was $40 and shipping’s $10 for it AND it’s on back order right now. The old retainer ring that goes over plastic piece was a nightmare to remove... Read more
