Speed control lever cracked or broken? This mixer speed control lever restores speed adjustment. Simple 15-minute repair with basic tools.
After ordering the speed lever, I watched one of the videos about disassembling the mixer. I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter except I found I spent more time cleaning and air dusting around the motor to get the accumulated flour dust out. The insides of the mixer haven't been touched in 30 years. About the most difficult part of disassembly was the 4 screws holding the mixer head to the stationary base. these screws have beveled cuts designed to lock the screws in place, I... Read more

Checked out You tube video. Easy tune up. One gasket was damaged and I did not notice that the brush holders has no brushes. I believe a quick call to Appliance parts pros will fix this, besides I need a few more parts. I expect to get another 20+ years from this KitchenAide mixer, once repairs are competed. Watch out for the single lock washer located on the rear upper housing screw, you don't want to lose this! Read more

Replaces a worn or stripped shaft-and-pinion assembly in your stand mixer. Installs in the geartrain to transfer motor rotation to driven components.
The multiple YouTube videos available made it a pretty straight forward step-by-step repair. Not all parts were in stock. They each shipped separately, but I got them all within a 2 week period. Process went pretty smoothly. However, when I first was diagnosing, I took the motor brushes out to check their wear, and did not put them back in until I had all the gears replaced and the mixer back together. Be careful, the brushes fit only a certain way. I had them oriented wrong, and the mixer... Read more
Hardware washer/spacer used in KitchenAid stand mixer assembly. Provides proper component spacing and secure mounting.
For most 20-year-old KitchenAid Blenders the grease packed inside begins to break down into UCK and oil which will drip through the old gaskets. After breaking down the case and removing all of the old grease and oil I cleaned all the gearing and shafts. I replaced the case gasket, the 2 shaft gaskets that the lower orbital gear slides up, and then the o-ring on the main shaft after everything was installed. I did a break-in run on med speed for one hour and then tapped the chrome ring off... Read more
Replace your stand mixer's power cord if it's damaged, frayed, melted, or chewed. This electrical cord connects your mixer to the outlet for power.
I replaced the Board-Phas and speed control plate since power was not making it to the motor. When I received the speed control plate it had nuts on the upper screws with springs, since my old one didn't have nuts I assumed that the nuts were to keep the springs on until installed. After putting it back together, I noticed that though it worked, the first two settings did nothing. Now, guys, I was desperate, OK. I downloaded the service manual and read it from front to back, and when I got to... Read more
Spacer washer maintains proper spacing between mixer gearcase components. Replace if cracked, worn, or missing to restore correct alignment and operation.
You Tube is my friend…..I looked up common issues with the KitchenAid mixers, and saw how to take it apart with “ease” - discovered the broken plastic worm gear; Appliance Parts Pros had a great part breakdown and I was able to locate and order the replacement gear (I bought some washers as well but was able to re-use the existing ones) within about 10 minutes. Received the parts in about 3 days and put it all back together successfully - a refurbished wedding present for a friends’s kid that... Read more

This planetary drip ring fits around a stand mixer's planetary assembly to cover the gap below the gearcase and help catch grease residue, restoring a clean, finished look where the beater hub meets the mixer head.
This was a problem that I'd had previously with this mixer. The worm gear, which is designed to fail (so that more serious damage does not occur to the motor), did fail while I was mixing some multi-grain bread dough. After the previous failure (pre-youtube days), I took the machine in for repair. The repair-shop cost came to about $150 in labor. Parts were extra. This time, I decided to do the repair myself, since I figured that I knew what was wrong. I found the appliancepartspros... Read more
