With help and information on your website, there were three parts that could possibly be causing the malfunction of my dishwasher… the control panel, thermal fuse, and/or door switches. This has been an awesome dishwasher that has never given us any problems, has a very fast wash cycle, is fairly quiet and gets the dishes very clean and dry. Even though it’s 11 years old, I want to keep it running as long as possible and financially feasible. For these reasons, I decided to get all three... Read more
This pivot clip allows the dishwasher tines to fold down flat, creating space for loading large plates and cookware in the lower rack. It provides the hinge mechanism that lets you adjust the tine configuration based on your loading needs. Replace this clip if tines won't stay folded down, pop back up during washing, or if the pivot mechanism is broken.
To eliminate ordering parts that are working, I went to hardware store to get a multimeter to test and confirmed the continuity of the themal fuse and the door switches are working. Saw another reviewer post a similar problem and I went with the solution by replacing the panel-ctl. Ordered the part, replaced it after receiving the delivery package, turned the breaker back on, ran a test cycle, et voila, it works as new. Sidenote, to reset the dishwasher, I pushed " hi-temp dry, "energy... Read more
This kit includes hose clamps and fasteners used during dishwasher installation to secure the drain hose and water supply connections. It ensures tight, leak-free connections between the dishwasher and household plumbing. Replace this kit if you notice water leaking at hose connections or if clamps are corroded, broken, or missing during a new installation or reinstallation.
I bought the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Removed water inlet hose. Removed water outlet hose. Removed water inlet valve which was held on with one screw. Replaced the water inlet value. Reattached both hoses. It leaked a little bit, so I had to put plumbing tape and really make it tight. Then the leaked stopped. Read more
Bottle with brush. Acyrlic touch-up paint. Color: Empire red. Size: 0.6 fl.oz.
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a... Replacement mounting screw for dishwashers. Secures internal components and panels. Order a new screw if yours is stripped, missing, or damaged.
Dishwasher leaking from underneath? The float switch kit controls water level and stops overfilling. Typical repair time 10-30 minutes.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... Fix water leaking from under your dishwasher with this pump volute. Directs water flow and prevents leaks with integrated seal. 20-minute repair.
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only... Read more
Fix a dishwasher motor that hums or won't start. This run capacitor provides the phase shift needed for smooth motor operation. DIY repair in 30-45 min.
Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). Unit now works fine. Overall an easy fix once you get the washer out and tip it on its side or top to get access to the motor area. Read more
This is a rubber gasket that seals around the door vent opening on a dishwasher, preventing steam and moisture from escaping into areas where they can cause damage. It fits between the vent assembly and the inner door panel. Replace this gasket if you notice moisture or steam leaking from around the vent area, water dripping down the front of the door, or if the gasket appears cracked, warped, or deteriorated.
We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update. So I ordered the part he said was bad, the control board. He did not check the fuse. I ordered the fuse, the new board worked. I removed the new and replaced the old control board. Everything is fine. Thus, I am returning the board. The suggestion to replace the fuse came from your on line tech. He saved me... Read more
