This is a rubber gasket that seals around the door vent opening on a dishwasher, preventing steam and moisture from escaping into areas where they can cause damage. We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update. Given the location and number of connections that had to be switched out and since I had to disconnect the electrical to install the new harness, I decided it would be easier to just pull the unit out and tilt it over so I could see what I was doing.
