I ordered the parts, deciding that if one spring had broken, the other one should probably be replaced at the same time. I followed the suggestion of ordering the door spring bearing given on the ordering page, and since I had not yet pulled out the dishwasher, did not know that it was not used in this older model. However, the order arrived quickly (4 days), and they are genuine Whirlpool, made in the USA, parts. The access to the sides of the dishwasher where the springs are attached... Read more

Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Received the element very quickly but it had been damaged in shipping. Called AppliancePartsPros to report this and they quickly shipped another element - very easy process. Fix dishwasher overflows and leaks with a new float assembly. Controls water level to prevent overfilling. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... Dishwasher leaking from bottom or making grinding noise? The sump housing often cracks or wears out. Moderately difficult repair, about 45 minutes.
I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to... Read more
