The Air Inlet is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This component allows fresh air to enter the dishwasher during the drying cycle, helping to reduce moisture and improve the efficiency of the drying process. By introducing outside air, the air inlet aids in removing humidity from inside the dishwasher, ensuring dishes come out dry and free from water spots.
Causes of a bad air inlet can include clogging from debris or mineral deposits, damage from regular wear and tear, or mechanical failures within the part itself. A faulty air inlet can lead to poor drying performance and increased moisture inside the dishwasher.
Symptoms of a bad air inlet include:
- Dishes remaining wet after the drying cycle
- Increased humidity inside the dishwasher after the cycle is complete
- Water spots on dishes and glassware
- Unusual noises during the drying cycle
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
