I had the problem couple years ago I bypassed unbalance switch it worked fine for a couple years and had the same problem again so ruled out unbalanced switch. Door lock light on and checked made sure wax motor pushed out all the way too the second switch for spin check OK, so took a chance on displacement switch x2. My family loves to over load it and also replaced by passed unbalance switch and boom every thing went back to normal. Its also good to clean every thing when apart. Read more

I ordered a new heating element and two other parts that attached to the heating element. I discovered a wire that broke off which caused the element not to work so I had to put a new female splicer on the broken wire then replaced the element and reattached the wires and everything worked. I had previously disassemble the pump assembly to find what I at first thought was an oddly shaped spring, which it was. What I learned by researching the parts was that the spring's odd shape was a result of something having gotten caught in the pump and jamming the impeller. After ordering the parts, I watched the "repair video" a few time and proceeded to remove and replaced the affected parts. 1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. We moved into a home with a nice dishwasher but the bottom rack was useless without the tines. Local appliance dealer said it would be cheaper to buy a new machine, but this was a high end machine, just a bit dated. Although we had a service contract with Sears I elected to take a quick look to see what was wrong. There were 3 problems: 1 - retainer thumb screw had broken and appeared to have been damaged for some time showing scummy buildup along the line where the threads finally separated from the knob, 2 - after removing the lower spray arm, observed that the pump seal was visibly distended and exposed, and 3 - the 3rd level wash arm spinner disk was in the parts bag and the stainless steel sweat-fit...
