This is a rubber or elastomer damper that supports and isolates the evaporator fan motor inside the refrigerator. It absorbs vibration from the motor to reduce noise during normal operation. Replace this part if you hear excessive buzzing, rattling, or vibration coming from the freezer section, which often indicates the damper has hardened or deteriorated.
Ordered parts, removed top tray in freezer, popped the back inside freezer panel out removed and replaced fan, dampers and fan housing. Took about 15 minutes. Read more
Fix frost buildup in your freezer with this defrost heater. Solves cooling issues and prevents ice accumulation on evaporator coils. Moderate DIY repair.
I have had the unfortunate problem of fixing this previously, so knew what to order. I ordered the defrost sensor and heater... and replaced both. Honestly, all I needed was the sensor I did and ohm test and got 0 on it... meaning it was bad, but just in case I replaced the heater. The fridge works great now, but I would suggest if this is your first time with this issue, remove the panel, unplug both sensors from the fridge, and do and ohm test while they are still in the fridge... and then... This is a micro switch that detects whether the microwave door is properly closed and latched. It is part of the safety interlock system that prevents the microwave from operating with the door open. Replace this switch if the microwave does not start when the door is shut, runs with the door open, blows a fuse when the door closes, or stops mid-cycle intermittently.
Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch. Since I had to change out the most likely of the 3 and since I was already was going to be into the switch panel I ordered all 3 and swapped them all out to cover my butt, as they were... Read more

Microwave not heating or making loud buzzing noise? The high voltage diode regulates power to the magnetron. DIY repair typically takes 30-45 minutes.
LG Help-line said probably a failed magnetron, but since out of warranty, referred me to an authorized LG repair service. They wanted $79.95 service call to come out & diagnose problem. I ordered replacement magnetron for less than cost of a service call, Plus the part was delivered next day! Works like new again. Happy wife = happy life! Notes for DYI-ers: 1.Be careful removing over the stove microwaves--get help, they are heavier than you think. 2.Unplug microwave for 48 hrs, carefully... Read more
Refrigerator won't cool or compressor won't start? This run capacitor provides the electrical boost needed for smooth compressor operation. DIY repair.
Unplugged frig to check connections, everything was ok. When I plugged it back in, nothing worked and the display and ice maker were flickering and clicking. Unplugged the display connector on the main board and could hear clicking from the main board itself. Replacing the main board and capacitor fixed it. I only replaced the capacitor as a precaution. it may not have been bad, but I did it for good measure. Everything is working great now and I don't have to buy a new refrigerator. Read more
The Rear Evaporator Motor Grommet is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It's designed to secure and cushion the evaporator motor, ensuring it remains in place and operates quietly. This grommet plays a crucial role in minimizing vibrations and noise from the motor, which can otherwise lead to a disruptive refrigerator operation.
Causes of a bad Rear Evaporator Motor Grommet can result from deterioration due to cooling and thawing cycles in the refrigerator. Physical damage during cleaning or servicing may cause a loose motor fit.
Symptoms of a malfunctioning Rear Evaporator Motor Grommet include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.
Replacement freezer door handle for bottom-mount refrigerators. Installs on freezer compartment door. Replace if broken, cracked, bent, or missing.

I found the condensing fan motor would not turn with power applied. I also found a drain tube cracked and breaking. I had to use a snub nose screwdriver to remove and replace condensing fan motor. The power wires were simply a snap on. The new drain tube just slipped on. Thanks for the speedy delivery! Stephanie Hobbs Read more
Microwave won't heat or makes loud buzzing noise? The diode regulates magnetron current flow. Simple repair—test with multimeter for continuity.
I have a multimeter so I was able to check the fuse per website recommendations and it was blown. However, the capacitor on the microwave was also original so I elected to replace the capacitor, fuse, and the ground protect diode. The repair was very simple (making sure the capacitor was discharged before replacing) and the microwave is now up and running again. Excellent trade to buy $40 worth of parts rather than a new $400 microwave. One nit - Kenmore puts a screw in the back that... Read more
