The Water Valve Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is essential for controlling the flow of water to the ice maker and the water dispenser. This solenoid-operated valve responds to signals from the refrigerator’s electronic control system to accurately manage the release of water, ensuring efficient operation and reliability.
Symptoms of a bad Water Valve Assembly include:
Causes of a bad water valve assembly can stem from mineral deposits that clog the valve, electrical failures that impair the valve’s operation, or wear and tear from normal usage leading to leaks or malfunctions.
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore. Note: Flow meter is not needed on all models, remove if necessary. Redesigned single valve replaces older dual solenoid valves. Wiring harness is included. Located behind the refrigerator.
I replaced the solenoid valve and trimmed a small amount of the tubing that serves the ice maker and water dispenser. The only problem was there is almost NO slack in that tubing. If you trim more than a half inch off, you won't have enough tubing to connect it on both ends. Read more
The Water Line is an OEM part for LG refrigerators, designed to supply water to the ice maker and water dispenser. Made from durable materials to withstand water pressure and prevent leaks, this water line is essential for access to clean, filtered water at all times. Note: color of the water tube may be different from original. Tube is 5/16" diameter
Symptoms of a bad Water Line include:
Causes of failure can range from physical damage, such as kinks or punctures, to wear and tear over time leading to brittleness or weakening of the material. These issues can compromise the integrity of the water supply, affecting both the quality and safety of the water and ice provided by your refrigerator.
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.
Removed the old line and replaced with the new. This is the sixth time I've replaced the line. Yes you read that right, the sixth time. Lines fail about every 6-8 months so I can change one out now in about 10-15 minutes. Bought the refrigerator in Feb '09 and the line first failed in March 2012. Since then I've had failures in as little as 4 months to as much as 9 months. Frustrating to say the least, but I'm a whiz at changing out the line :-) Read more
The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing ice and dispensing it into the ice bucket within the freezer compartment. It includes the ice mold, motor, and other components that work together to form, freeze, and release ice cubes efficiently.

Symptoms of a bad icemaker assembly include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.
This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Need a phillips and a flat screwdriver, I also found a needle nose... Read more
The Dispenser Micro Switch is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is a component of the ice and water dispensing system, responsible for activating the dispenser when the lever is pressed.
Causes of a bad Dispenser Micro Switch can include mechanical wear from frequent use, failure due to moisture or debris affecting the switch’s contacts, or electrical faults that prevent proper signaling.
Symptoms of a bad Dispenser Micro Switch include:
After my layman's diagnosis (hope) of a bad micro switch to the ice dispenser (would not activate and dispense ice through the chute) I purchased the both the ice and water dispenser micro switches (kill two birds with one stone). Albeit the video attached to these parts may be helpful to some it was not applicable to my refrigerator, as you could not access it from the front by removing the exterior dispenser plate. Don't try this on the LG, LFX25991ST series, refrigerator or you may break it... Read more
The Fan Motor is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is essential for circulating air throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments to ensure a consistent and even temperature. This air circulation is crucial for proper food preservation and to prevent warm spots or frost buildup, which can occur when air does not circulate properly.
Symptoms of a bad Fan Motor include:
Causes of a bad fan motor can include wear and tear from continuous use, accumulation of dust or debris in the fan, or electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a burned-out motor.
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.
I only needed the Bracket Assembly motor, not the DC Motor or Fan Assembly that I also ordered so I will be sending those back. The repair was extremely straightforward with a few bumps along the way. All told it took me about an hour. I started with shutting off the breaker for the refrigerator and putting all of the frozen food in coolers. Then I removed the drawers and the bracket for the drawer rails on the left side (as your facing the refrigerator). I then proceeded to gently pry off the... Read more
The Water Inlet Valve Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This part controls the flow of water into the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser. By opening and closing at specific times, it ensures the proper amount of water is supplied for making ice or dispensing water.
Causes of a bad water inlet valve include clogs from sediment, failure of the solenoids, or cracks in the valve body.
Symptoms of a bad Water Inlet Valve Assembly include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.
Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues. Read more

Replaced plastic housing for $100. Recommend buying the whole assembly though. Cost a bit more but you would be done in 15min. When you just replace the housing, you have to disassemble the old one very carefully to reuse several parts that do not come with the housing. A lot of fragile plastics. Plus, make sure you have GooGone and 3M thin tape handy; you will absolutely need it. Again, buy the whole assembly and save time and headache. Read more
