I've read several reports about how "easy and quick" it was to replace the motor. All I can say is, "nonsense". Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint. This is a rubber gasket that sits inside the water inlet hose connection on your washing machine. It creates a watertight seal between the hose fitting and the water supply valve to prevent leaks. Replace this gasket if you notice water dripping from the hose connections at the back of the washer.

Small drive gear inside the washer transmission gearcase that meshes with mating gears. Replace when worn, stripped, or damaged to restore power transfer.
American appliances are very easy to fix in comparison to imported ones. Just open the washer and take de transmission cover out change the pinion inside removing a simple retainer. In the agitator there is a screw that you loosen it take it out, then de tub and take the shaft out and put a new seal and a new c clamp and reinstall everything back. Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell. Cleaned mold/scale off of as much of the door as I could while in there as well. Removing parts without breaking plastic tabs to hold the new parts was trickiest part. Read more
