This is the timer for a washing machine unit. The timer controls the electrical parts and the length of time that the washing machine cycles run. This part is responsible for the water level, filling the tub and draining the tub, and settings. When the timer goes bad, the washing machine will no longer go through its cycles and it won't advance. It may stall in the middle of a cycle, skip a cycle, or won't even start at all. The timer will stop working if it burns out. Unplug the washing machine from the wall outlet before replacing this part. This replacement is fairly easy and takes approximately one hour to complete, depending upon the skill level of the person performing the task.This timer is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by Maytag and Whirlpool. I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. Seals the basket to center shaft, preventing leaks and reducing noise. Replace if leaking between tub and transmission. Confirm fit with your model.
Replaced all seals, unfortunately it is still leaking. I can see where it is leaking from. I am going to tear it back down use some ultra grey gasket maker and reinstall tub gasket. Hoping that works. If it still leaks I will be using the washer as a large paper weight. Read more
