I ordered new seals from AppliancePartsPros.com. Finding the right seals was very easy, all based on model number of the appliance. While looking my unit over for other signs of wear, I noticed that a repair done by the prior homeowner to the lower wash arm was done improperly: a seal there was set protruding from the cover, the cover was missing screws, and the arm was missing the upper bushing. So I ordered a new seal, the missing screws, and both the top and bottom bushings (just to be... Read more
The Drain Hose is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It serves as the connection that allows dirty water to exit the dishwasher tub and flow into the water drain system after each wash cycle. The hose transports wastewater from inside the dishwasher out through the standpipe. Causes of a bad drain hose can include mineral or food debris buildup blocking water flow within the hose, cracks or breaks in the plastic material from repeated bending, or a loose or damaged hose clamp connection. Symptoms of a drain hose failure include:
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
Fixes loose panels, rattling doors, or wobbly components caused by stripped or missing screws. Secures brackets, covers, and mounting hardware. Easy DIY.
Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find... Fixes weak spray and poor cleaning caused by a worn impeller. Mounts on the circulation pump to drive water through spray arms. DIY-friendly repair.
Motor shaft was stripped, replaced with new shaft from Motor Seal Kit. Impeller was also cracked, so replaced it as well. I did run in to a small problem, the chopper blade was pressing against the metal grate on the piece that goes back over the motor seal. I spent about an hour messing with it, but thought maybe once it's all together it'll be fine. When you screw the impeller on, it pushes down the seals, which pushes down the chopper blade. Video on Motor Seal Kit page made it an... Read more

Secures adjustable tines in the upper or lower dishrack. Replace if clip is broken, cracked, or missing to keep tines upright and stable for dishes.
This isn't going to be easy to follow without an assembly at hand and in front of you. Having purchased and received a pair of replacement clips (though only one of mine was actually broken), I began to figure out how to put the assembly back together not having recalled how I'd taken it apart. It was a bit of a Chinese puzzle that I solved with some trial, error and patience. The 1st ah-ha moment came when I realized that the orientation of the rack was constrained by its dimensions, the... Read more
