Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP33002795
This genuine replacement part is a drive motor for dryers. The drive motor is the main engine that allows the dryer drum to rotate. If the drum is no longer spinning properly, the drive motor might need to be replaced. Luckily this is a relatively simple process. To replace the drive motor, begin by unplugging the dryer. Once it is powered off, uninstall the front panel of the dryer by removing the screws that attach it. After that, lift the top panel above the drum so that it is vertical and no longer covering the drum. Then disconnect the wires from the moisture sensors with a screwdriver by pressing down on the locking tab. Once the wires have been removed, lift the drum out from the dryer to gain access to the drive motor. Using a socket wrench, remove the blower wheel from the motor assembly. Then remove the old drive motor by unthreading the mounting screws that attach it. Install the new drive motor and reassemble the dryer. This OEM replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpools, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dryers.

Would not heat Chris A. • Saint Joseph , IL • January 04, 2017
I figured there could only be a couple reasons why the dryer would not heat so I did some research. I read where you could test for continuity on the parts to determine which one was bad. A friend referred me to this site, I looked up the part for my particular model, ordered and replaced the part. It could not have been any easier. I will come back to this site with my future appliance parts needs for sure!

Thermal fuse blew John P. • Palm Coast , FL • January 02, 2016
Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. This time I cleaned the exhaust vent on the roof of my 2-story house. It was found to be partially obstructed and I was able to remove a significant amount of lint from it. Also, I researched the problem and followed someone's advice to replace the cycling thermostat together with the thermal fuse if the thermal fuse blows. So far it has been...

Gas valve on gas dryer leaking Thomas R. • Stillwater , MN • January 10, 2017
Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. The instructions were detailed and excellent. The dryer is up and running fine.

First look 2nd look 3rd look success!!!!! Kirk P. • Des Moines , IA • October 10, 2014
When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer. I came online and found your website. After reviewing your parts I thought well I can probably get those local and with competive pricing. Wrong!! There are 3 appliance parts stores withing about 3 miles and I checked them all. Higher prices by 25-35% and longer wait times than your advertised...

Dryer was making a loud noise in use Brian L. • Sacramento , CA • November 21, 2019
I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. I was able to remove the fan drive by using vice-grip pliers, hammer and a combination wrench to hold motor from turning. Also Note: the fan...

This is a metal clip that secures the drive motor in place within the dryer cabinet. It clamps around the motor housing to prevent movement during operation. Replace this clip if it is broken, missing, or bent, which can cause the motor to shift and create excessive vibration, rattling noises, or belt misalignment.

Control board shorted out during drying cycle with a series of loud popping noises creating a blackened corner of the dishwasher door a pungent electircal fire smell and tripped circuit breaker Charles L. • Concord , MA • November 01, 2014
Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell. Cleaned mold/scale off of as much of the door as I could while in there as well. Removing parts without breaking plastic tabs to hold the new parts was trickiest part.
