Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. This is a metal clip that secures the drive motor in place within the dryer cabinet. It clamps around the motor housing to prevent movement during operation. Replace this clip if it is broken, missing, or bent, which can cause the motor to shift and create excessive vibration, rattling noises, or belt misalignment.

Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell.
