Every six months I change my refrigerator filter. I purchased a new filter (UKF8001) and installed it just like I've done many times before. This time, when I first used the water dispenser, I got a horrible sound (kind of like a jack hammer/vibration) followed by very little water flow. I went to appliancepartspros.com and described the symptoms which led to replacing the capacitor. The part arrived the next day!!! Unfortunately the clicking and warmness remained. I went to the online chat and Mandie recommended the relay which was next in the chain before the dreaded compressor. Once again the part arrived the next morning! Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. I pulled the old gasket off the door then I used rubbing alcohol to clean the mold along the back of the door and in the insert for the gasket seals . The new gasket fit extremely well and was very easy to put in. I waited 24 hours for the gasket to come back to its normal shape. After putting the gasket in I waited another 24 hours to make sure that I was getting no Icing inside the freezer area. There was no icing so the job is completed. Read more

Remove and replaced the auger motor, shaft seal, and the chute seal. No problem. However, the causing failure was to broken wire on the bottom of the freezer door. Loom and blue wire were cut, due to being pinched. I had current to start with and the auger worked three times then quit. That's when I really had to start searching . Fun. Read more

I replaced the Defrost Heater and the Fan Motor w/Harness (contains the thermoswitch for the Defrost Heater). I didn't know which part was defective, and I didn't want to tear apart the refrigerator twice (first finding the defective part and then replacing it).
