This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. I referenced the repair video. Very straightforward and easy. Only need 3 tools: 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers and Philips head screwdriver. About 15 minute job. Surprising how much lint and dust build up inside the chassis, was able to clean that out too. Read more

I ordered the hinge on the weekend and it came on Tuesday in the late Morning. I loved how quick it arrived. The swap out of the part took 10 minutes using a batter powered driver, a #2 Phillips tip and a T-25 tip. If you use hand tools, it will take a few minutes longer. Took the whole dryer apart to access the wheels (4) of them, belt and fan wheel, also had to clean all the lint out that somehow builds up inside the dryer. Plus cleaned out dryer duct vent, added to the time involved. The 2 sensors that sit on top of the flame tube work together. The Thrmst F should check closed, as should the Cutoff-TML, in order for power to flow to the ignitor. If the Cutoff is open, it is usually because the Thrmst-F did not open soon enough. The Thermst-F will cycle, closed to open, and repeat, however the Cutoff-HTML is a one time switch.
