Left-side oven door hinge that supports and controls door movement. Replace if hinge is cracked, broken, or door won't close flush, allowing heat to escape.
The replacement hinge unit arrived in just two days. The JennAire (Maytag) oven door is fairly typical in that it easily lifts off of the hinge bars. Once the door is off then removing two screws is all that's required to remove the hinge unit from the oven. The new hinge slides up into place and while you hold it up inside of its location putting the old screws back in is very easy. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. I ordered a new door glass from appliancepartspro.com it came within two days, but I forgot to order the 8 pieces of foam tape, assuming it would also be included in with the order, it wasn't, so after waiting for that to arrive, it was fairly easy, job after watching the video. Burner won't ignite or flame is weak? This orifice holder aligns the burner orifice and electrode for reliable ignition. Moderate DIY, 30-60 minutes.
The top had to be removed but with the unit being 14 years old, galvanic corrosion had seized the screws holding the Burner Heads to the Orifices. I carefully drilled out the heads of the screws until the Burner heads could be pulled free. I removed the two screws that held the Burner control assembly with all the gas valves in place.
