I replaced the fan and heater element. The replacement was not an exact match. I had to adjust the parts to get the harness to fit the plug was not the correct size. This is a refrigerator ice and water dispenser drip tray located on the freezer door. Color: White. It measures about 8 inches wide by 4 inches deep. For black order WR17X11655.
Ordered the new interface display - this must be the easiest refrigerator repair possible. My version popped right off without even a screw (some models have a screw). There are 3 different sizes of connector to disconnect and hook up to the new board - so you really can't mess that up. Read more

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section.
