First, I removed the flap spring attached to the bottom hinge. Then I had to pop off the lower hinge cover so the old hinge could be removed. It doesn't seem designed to pop off so I had to wiggle and screwdriver blade under it to get if off. Fortunately, I didn't break off any of the plastic nibs that hold the cover to the flap! This is a design flaw with this refrigerator, so it will likely happen every few years. This is the second one I have replaced. Might not be a bad idea to completely thaw your fridge once a year to avoid this. The repair is simple. Unplug your fridge and open the top fridge doors. Remove all items, and take out all the shelves and drawers. Allow the fridge to thaw. Can take several hours, although you can speed this up with a hair dryer. The power control board is located in the back of the refrigerator. The purpose of a power control board is to maintain and manage the refrigerator's compressor. If a refrigerator is not maintaining its temperature properly, the power control board may need to be replaced. This type of board has an LED light that will signal if it is not functioning correctly. If this LED light is going off, the power control board should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part. Took a bit to diagnose. First tried cleaning coils but the problem still persisted. Next took of the back panel and put the system into diag mode. (Press energy save button and fridge button for eight seconds system ding once a second and inverter board red LED will blink a code or be on solid if no issue. Not easy to figure out. Removed screws that appeared to hold the motor/fan/bracket in but it didn't budge (??). Watched a You Tube video but the guy's camera work wasn't too clear. I at least gathered that there was a plastic, one-way button/slide lock on the underside of bracket that holds the motor/fan assemby in.. Didn't make sense that once the button was pushed up with a screwdriver, the bracket would slide out (towards you) because there are rigid cooling lines that are in the way. ... Read more
