The hardest part of this repair was a) realizing that the easiest way to clean the oven door pieces is to remove the whole door and b) figuring out how to put the oven door back on. Doing (b) is infinitely easier if you stick two allen wrenches into the holes in the door hinge, but these holes ONLY appear when the door is fully open. This is a Whirlpool range control board. It manages and monitors temperatures for the range and features a digital display and user interface buttons. The control board can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat. For example, if the oven's self clean function is run too long or too frequently, parts of the control board could melt or otherwise malfunction.Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The stove may need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control board.
