After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. Replaced water valve to fix water not going to door, easy enough to do. Replaced icemaker which was corroded inside the cube-forming trays causing black flakes to come off stuck to the ice cubes, and was also leaking causing the water to drip into the ice bucket making one giant ice cube. Ten-minute job, which took an hour and a half. this is a 25-year-old unit and I only had access to the plug on the back of the icemaker, the other end was behind the rear wall. Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems. Read more
