The Control Knob is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool gas ranges. It is the manually operated rotary component that selects cooking features and temperature settings on the stovetop burners. Measures about 2 inches in diameter. For white order WP8273104. For biscuit order WP8273106.
Causes of a bad control knob include normal wear of internal components over extensive cooking cycles. Stripping or deterioration of the knurled gripping surface also reduces functionality.

Overall the fix wasn't too hard. The challenge was putting the oven door back together and holding it together while trying to tighten the screws. Enlisted my wife's help to hold the door and at first the handle screws wouldn't tighten. My cordless screwdriver's battery was under-charged. This is a small metal mounting clip used to secure the spark electrode (igniter) in place near a surface burner on a gas range. It holds the igniter at the correct position so the spark can reliably ignite the gas when the burner knob is turned. Replace this clip if the igniter is loose, misaligned, or has fallen out of position, causing unreliable burner ignition.
Ordered the clip and a screw. Had no idea how the clip was to be installed. Looked up how to install the igniter, Okay.
